An Act to amend the Governor General’s Act
Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:
R.S., c. G-9
1 Subsection 4(1) of the Governor General’s Act is replaced by the following:
Salary
4 (1) There shall be payable to the Governor General an annual salary of $1 beginning on February 1, 2021.
2 Section 4.1 of the Act is repealed.
3 Part II of the Act is repealed.

4 The schedule to the Garnishment, Attachment and Pension Diversion Act is amended by striking out the reference to “1 Governor General’s Act.”.

5 The definition pension plan in section 2 of the Pension Benefits Division Act is amended by striking out subparagraph (a)(viii).
R.S., c. S-24
6 Paragraph 8(2)(c) of the Supplementary Retirement Benefits Act is replaced by the following:
(c) any benefit calculated by reference to an annuity payable under the Judges Act,
7 Schedule I to the Act is amended by striking out the reference to “1 Governor General’s Act.”.
8 Part II of the Governor General’s Act, as it read immediately before February 1, 2021, continues to apply with respect to an annuity referred to in section 6 or 7 that became payable before that date.

9 This Act is deemed to have come into force on February 1, 2021.
