Drivers are advised of overnight and weekend lane closures on Highway 1 from 216th Street to 264th Street, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7.

The overnight and weekend lane closures are to allow crews to safely perform advance construction work within the highway median, in preparation for the Highway 1/216th to 264th Street Widening Project.

From September 2021 through summer 2022, drivers can expect fast lane closures in each direction on this section of Highway 1 between 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Monday to Friday, and from 8:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Drivers may also see daytime work in the median, but there will be no daytime lane closures or traffic disruptions.

With multiple work zones on Highway 1 between 216th Street and 264th Street, drivers should expect some delays as a result of the fast lane closures. To plan ahead, check: www.DriveBC.ca

Drivers are reminded to follow the direction of signage and flag persons and obey construction zone speed limits.
