Today, Premier Doug Ford issued the following statement to mark the beginning of Rosh Hashanah:
“This evening at sundown, Jewish communities across Ontario and around the world will begin the celebration of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah.
It is a special time of renewal and reflection when we can look back on the lessons of the past year and look forward to the opportunities of the next one. And above all, take time to celebrate what matters most – family, friends, and the wellbeing of our loved ones.
When the shofar sounds this year, let us look forward to the future and count our many blessings.
May this new year bring peace, health and prosperity to all celebrating the High Holy Days. I wish you a sweet new year. Shana Tova!"
