“Rosh Hashanah marks a time of renewal and optimism. As Jewish people from around Alberta gather to celebrate the beginning of a new year, we join them in hopes for a ‘Good and Sweet’ year as we continue to face the public health challenge of COVID-19.

“As the shofar calls out, and as families celebrate together with apples and honey and challah, let us echo their awe for the creation of the world, and celebrate the gifts we have all received.

“I wish Jewish Albertans all joy and peace as you embark on the solemn reflection that comes with the High Holy Days.
