Lebanese Independence Day: Associate Minister Yaseen
2021-11-22

“Today, Lebanese people around the world are commemorating the anniversary of their liberation from French rule in 1943. This joyful celebration will see families and friends gathering, eating their favourite foods and displaying the flag and colours of Lebanon.

“Although this year’s gatherings may need to be kept small to follow the current public health restrictions that keep us all safe, I hope that Alberta’s Lebanese community celebrates their independence, their rich heritage and their important place within our province. These types of celebrations are an opportunity for communities to remember their history, but also for all Albertans to learn more about the diversity that makes this province strong.

“I encourage Albertans to join me in extending their congratulations and best wishes to our Lebanese neighbours.”
