Questions

From: To: Education, Employment and Training Committee; Robert Hansen Subject: Inquiry into the Operational of the Trading (Allowable Hours) Act Date: Monday, 8 November 2021 3:00:30 PM

Dear Mr Hanson

At the inquiry hearing into the above matter held on 1 November 2021 the AWU was asked to provide information on the impacts of the moratorium applicable to shops in Mossman and Port Douglas Tourist area.

AWU members have not reported any significant change as a consequence of the trial arrangements in this area. We do however indicate that the trial has been impacted by COVID 19 and as a consequence we not believe any firm conclusions can be made at this time.

Regards.
