EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

The Automatic Enrolment (Offshore Employment) Order 2012 applies certain provisions of the Pensions Act 2008 and the Pensions (No. 2) Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 to persons in offshore employment, with the effect that those persons are brought within the automatic enrolment for the pensions provisions of those Acts. This instrument removes a sunset provision within that Order which would otherwise have terminated the effect of that Order from 1st July 2020.

A full impact assessment of the effect that this instrument will have on the costs of business, the voluntary sector and the public sector is available at www.legislation.gov.uk.
