Reg. 176/10 (TEACHERS’ QUALIFICATIONS) 1. Subsection 2.1 (1) of Ontario Regulation 176/10 is revoked and the following substituted: Issuance of temporary certificates of qualification and registration (1) Subject to subsections (1.1) and (2), the Registrar may issue a temporary certificate of qualification and registration in respect of a period specified in Column 1 of the Table on or after the date specified in Column 2. A person may apply for a certificate in respect of the 2021 year if the person is expected to complete their program of professional education in 2021. 2. A person may apply for a certificate in respect of the 2022 year if the person is expected to complete their program of professional education in 2022. 3. A person may apply for a certificate in respect of the 2022-2023 period if the person is expected to complete their program of professional education in 2023. 2. (1) Clause 17.1 (1) (c) of the Regulation is amended by adding “satisfactory” before “portion”. (2) Clause 17.1 (2) (a) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted: (a) holds an acceptable post-secondary degree or qualifications the College considers to be equivalent to such a degree, or technological qualifications or, if the applicant is currently enrolled in a concurrent program, they submit evidence acceptable to the Registrar that they have completed the requirements for their undergraduate degree in a discipline other than education, whether or not that degree has been conferred; and (3) Clause 17.1 (3) (b) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted: (b) holds an acceptable post-secondary degree or qualifications the College considers to be equivalent to such a degree, or technological qualifications or, if the applicant is currently enrolled in a concurrent program, they submit evidence acceptable to the Registrar that they have completed the requirements for their undergraduate degree in a discipline other than education, whether or not that degree has been conferred; and (4) Clause 17.1 (6) (a) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted: (a) holds an acceptable post-secondary degree or qualifications the College considers to be equivalent to such a degree or, if the applicant is currently enrolled in a concurrent program, they submit evidence acceptable to the Registrar that they have completed the requirements for their undergraduate degree in a discipline other than education, whether or not that degree has been conferred; (a.1) holds technological qualifications; and (5) Subsection 17.1 (7) of the Regulation is amended by striking out the portion before clause (a) and substituting the following: (7) The Registrar may extend for six months a temporary certificate of qualification and registration granted under subsection (1) in respect of the 2021 or 2022 year if the holder of the certificate submits to the Registrar, before the applicable expiration date in Column 3 of the Table to subsection 2.1 (1), evidence satisfactory to the Registrar that they are a member of the College in good standing and they, . . . . . 3. Subsection 17.2 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out the portion before clause (a) and substituting the following: (2) The Registrar may extend for six months a temporary certificate of qualification and registration granted under subsection (1) in respect of the 2021 or 2022 year if the holder of the certificate submits to the Registrar, before the applicable expiration date in Column 3 of the Table to subsection 2.1 (1), evidence satisfactory to the Registrar that they are a member of the College in good standing and they, . . . . . 4. The following provisions of the Regulation are amended by striking out “a year” and substituting “a period”: 1. Clause 4 (3) (f.1). 2. Clause 5 (1) (g.1). 3. Subsection 17.1 (1), in the portion before clause (a). 4. Subsection 17.2 (1), in the portion before clause (a). 5. Section 17.3, in the portion before clause (a). Commencement 5. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
