Definition
1 In this Regulation,
(a) "Act" means the Labour Relations Code;
(b) "relevant fiscal year" means the fiscal year in respect of
which a trade union is required to provide a financial
statement under section 24.1(1) of the Act.
Providing financial statements
2 A financial statement must be provided to each member
(a) free of charge, and
(b) in writing in a form that is
(i) accessible by the member so as to be usable for
subsequent reference, and
(ii) capable of being retained by the member.
Requirements for financial statements
3(1) A financial statement must be
(a) verified by a person with sufficient knowledge of the
financial affairs of the trade union as accurately disclosing
the financial condition and operation of the trade union for
the relevant fiscal year, and
(b) signed by the person referred to in clause (a).
(2) The financial statement must include information with respect to
the assets, liabilities, income and expenditures of the trade union for
the relevant fiscal year.
Expiry
4 For the purpose of ensuring that this Regulation is reviewed for
ongoing relevancy and necessity, with the option that it may be
repassed in its present or an amended form following a review, this
Regulation expires on February 28, 2026.
Coming into force
5 This Regulation comes into force on the coming into force of
section 11(7) of the Restoring Balance in Alberta's Workplaces Act,
2020.
