A binding agreement signed by Ontario will now allow a transit-oriented community (TOC) at East Harbour. TOCs are also moving forward at the future Corktown, Queen-Spadina, King-Bathurst and Exhibition stations along the Ontario Line.

Ontario Line

East Harbour:

  • East Harbour will be integrated with transit and will include a diverse range of commercial and residential space, including affordable housing, retail, food, cultural uses, public amenities and parkland.
  • This will be a multi-modal transit hub, incorporating GO Train (Lakeshore East and the Stouffville GO lines) service, a future SmartTrack station, TTC light rail transit (linking the proposed Queens Quay LRT with Broadview Avenue) and the future Ontario Line.
  • This TOC will include a major park plaza, nine residential buildings and nine commercial buildings, creating an active new commercial centre and community east of the Don River.
  • Approximately 4,300 units of housing, including affordable housing options are planned.
  • The 38-acre site will include about 10 million square feet of commercial development with the capacity to accommodate more than 50,000 employees. The addition of new residential spaces will create a complete, vibrant live-work-play community within this key employment area.

King-Bathurst:

  • The TOC at King-Bathurst subway station will retain heritage buildings and structures, recognizing the character of this vibrant neighbourhood and reinforcing the cultural heritage value of the site.
