Women’s Hub helps women find support
2022-06-17

Alberta’s government is focused on ensuring women are fully included in the province’s economic and social recovery. The Women’s Hub will help achieve that goal by connecting women with resources and services that can help them achieve their goals.

This online directory allows women to search all of the supports offered by Alberta’s government and filter results based on their personal information and the type of service they are looking for.

“I have heard from many women in Alberta that it can be challenging to find the time to navigate government programs and resources to help them grow their careers, find health care, thrive in the wake of domestic and sexual violence, or get involved in their communities. I also heard from women across our province that they need a resource to help them find care for their elderly parents, educational choices for their kids and safe spaces to go if needed. The Women’s Hub provides a way to easily and quickly find much-needed information for women who are already stretched for time.”

Whitney Issik, Associate Minister of Status of Women

“The Women’s Hub will make it easier for women to find help for everything from career advice to child care. Women give so much to their families, their workplaces and their communities, and connecting them with more support empowers them to reach their full potential.”

Jackie Lovely, parliamentary secretary to the Associate Minister of Status of Women

“YW Calgary is committed to a vision of women and their families thriving in community. We are pleased to see the Government of Alberta work to ensure all women have access to the resources and supports they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives throughout our province.”

Sue Tomney, CEO, YW Calgary

“With its new features like ease of accessibility and intuitive navigation, the Women’s Hub will be a valuable resource for us at Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association. The portal will be an additional tool for us as we support immigrant women, girls and their families.”

Paula Calderon, CEO, Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association

The Women’s Hub also addresses the recommendations made by the Premier’s Council on Charities and Civil Society in the Supporting Women’s Economic Recovery Report related to improving access to resources and expanding virtual services.

As new resources and programs become available, they will be added to the directory, ensuring the information is always up to date.
