New information and privacy commissioner: Minister Glubish
2022-06-30

“I congratulate Diane McLeod on her appointment as Alberta’s new information and privacy commissioner.

“Ms. McLeod has been recommended by a non-partisan search committee of the legislative assembly. She will begin her work as Alberta’s information and privacy commissioner on Aug. 1, for a term of five years.

“Ms. McLeod brings many years of experience to this role. In addition to serving as Yukon’s appointed ombudsman and information and privacy commissioner, she was Yukon’s first public interest disclosure commissioner. Prior to her time in Yukon, she worked for the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner in Alberta.

“I look forward to working with Ms. McLeod on the important topics of access to information and the protection of Albertans’ privacy.

“I want to thank Jill Clayton for her many years of dedicated service to Albertans as Alberta’s information and privacy commissioner, and for staying on until Ms. McLeod begins.

“I also want to thank the committee for its work throughout the process.”
