The Honourable Derek Bennett, Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Municipalities, has announced the following events relative to Part 10 Environmental Assessment of the Environmental Protection Act.

UNDERTAKING REGISTERED:

Upper Humber River Vegetable Farm                          (Reg. 2098)
Proponent: Riverside Farms

The proponent is proposing to expand its existing farmland and develop a 1.2-hectare parcel of Crown land located near the Upper Humber River. The farm is located along a forest access road, southwest of the Town of Hampden, off Route 420. Crops will include strawberries and root vegetables to supply local markets.

The undertaking was registered on August 21, 2020; the deadline for public comments is September 28, 2020; and the minister’s decision is due by October 4, 2020.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION REVISED:

Indian Bay Quarry                                                              (Reg. 2096)
Proponent: Oldford’s Sand & Gravel Ltd.

This undertaking announced on August 14, 2020, included incorrect coordinates and has been revised to include the correct coordinates. As a result, the public review period is extended to September 28, 2020 to facilitate a 35-day public review, and the minister’s decision is due by October 8, 2020.
