LETTERS PATENT OF CONTINUANCE

Notice is hereby given that Olympia Trust Company (the “Company”), incorporated under the Loan and Trust Corporations Act (Alberta), with its head office in Calgary, Alberta, intends to file an application, pursuant to section 31 of the Trust and Loan Companies Act (Canada) [the “TLCA”], for the Minister of Finance to issue letters patent continuing the Company as a trust company under the TLCA with the legal name, in English, “Olympia Trust Company”, and, in French, “Société de fiducie Olympia”.

Any person who objects to the proposed continuance may submit an objection in writing by May 6, 2024, to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, either by post at 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2 or by email at approvals-approbations@osfi-bsif.gc.ca.

Note: The publication of this notice should not be construed as evidence that letters patent will be issued to continue the Company as a trust company under the TLCA. The granting of the letters patent will be dependent upon the application review process under the TLCA and the discretion of the Minister of Finance.

CERTIFICATE OF CONTINUANCE

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with subsection 39(3) of the Insurance Companies Act (the “Act”), that Scotia General Insurance Company (“SGIC”) intends to apply to the Minister of Finance (Canada), on or after April 15, 2024, for approval to apply under the Canada Business Corporations Act (the “CBCA”) for a certificate of continuance as a corporation under the CBCA. The board of directors of SGIC may, however, without further approval of the sole shareholder of SGIC, withdraw the application for continuance before it is acted on, in accordance with subsection 39(4) of the Act.

Note: The publication of this notice should not be construed as evidence that the approval will be issued. The granting of such approval will be dependent upon the normal review process and the discretion of the Minister of Finance.
