The Provincial Government is monitoring an approaching weather system that is anticipated to affect parts of the province.

Rainfall warnings have been issued from Port aux Basques to the Burin Peninsula and southeastern Labrador. Rainfall amounts may exceed 50 mm in some areas, with significant amounts of rain in other areas.

Municipalities and local service districts should review their emergency management plans; ensure infrastructure such as roads, ditches and drains are clear of debris in anticipation of heavy rainfall.

The public is encouraged to monitor the latest weather forecast warnings for their area at weather.gc.ca/warnings/index_e.html?prov=nl.
