Further opportunities, in the form of a virtual town hall and a public Facebook Live event, have been announced that will provide more opportunities for Islanders to submit their ideas and feedback on the upcoming budget.

All pre-budget consultations will be virtual this year and will include a virtual town hall that will be held on January 12, 2021, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Simultaneous translation will be available.  Interested participants are required to register in advance by calling (902) 368-5501 or by emailing snlee@gov.pe.ca (link sends e-mail) to confirm their attendance.

In addition, there will also be an open Facebook Live event on the Government of PEI Facebook page, which will take place on January 14, 2021, from 7 p.m. until approximately 7:30 p.m.  Registration is not required for this event.

Islanders can continue to submit their ideas and input online at Pre-Budget until January 22, 2021.

“We value the input we receive from Islanders,” said Minister of Finance Darlene Compton. “that is why we have made changes to make consultations more inclusive and accessible for all.”

“I invite all Islanders to submit their feedback either online or during one of the virtual consultations that will allow us to develop a budget by Islanders, for Islanders.”
