Reg. 347/02 (ACCREDITATION OF TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS) 1. Subsection 1 (1) of Ontario Regulation 347/02 is amended by adding the following definitions: “Accreditation Appeal Committee” means the committee established under section 31 of Ontario Regulation 563/21 (General); (“comité d’appel des agréments”) “Accreditation Committee” means the committee established under section 28 of Ontario Regulation 563/21 (General); (“comité d’agrément”) “accreditation panel” means a panel established in accordance with section 29 of Ontario Regulation 563/21 (General); (“sous-comité d’agrément”) 2. Part II of the Regulation is revoked. 3. Subsection 19 (2) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “The Accreditation Committee” and substituting “The chair of the Accreditation Committee”. 4. Subsection 20 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “Council” wherever it appears and substituting in each case “Registrar”. 5. (1) Subsections 21 (1) to (1.2) of the Regulation are revoked and the following substituted: Review, substantial change in program (1) A panel established under section 30 of Ontario Regulation 563/21 (General) shall consider whether there is reason to believe that a permitted institution has substantially changed the character, duration or components of a program of professional education. (2) Subsection 21 (1.3) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “established under” and substituting “referred to in”. (3) Subsection 21 (2) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted: (2) On receipt of a notice under subsection (1.3), (a)  the Accreditation Committee shall conduct a review of the program with respect to the program’s fulfilment of the requirements for accreditation under this Part; or (b)  the chair of the Accreditation Committee shall direct an accreditation panel to conduct a review of the program with respect to the program’s fulfilment of the requirements for accreditation under this Part. 6. Subsection 32 (1) of the Regulation is amended by is amended by striking out “Council” wherever it appears and substituting in each case “Registrar”. 7. (1) Subsection 33 (1) of the Regulation is amended by striking out “Council” wherever it appears and substituting in each case “Registrar”. (2) Subsection 33 (2) of the Regulation is revoked and the following substituted: (2) On receipt of a notice under subsection (1), (a)  the Accreditation Committee shall conduct a review of the program in accordance with section 26 with respect to the program’s fulfilment of the requirements for accreditation under this Part; or (b)  the chair of the Accreditation Committee shall direct an accreditation panel to conduct a review of the program in accordance with section 26 with respect to the program’s fulfilment of the requirements for accreditation under this Part. 8. Sections 35 to 38 of the Regulation are revoked. Commencement 9. This Regulation comes into force on the day it is filed.
